Hi!

You might be wondering where the Compaq Presario 21xx page is.

Short answer: it's gone.

I get three or four emails a day asking why I took my page down.

The answer is quite simple: I DO NOT HAVE THE COMPUTER. I CANNOT ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS.

It was a work machine. I lost the job. Fin.

Now, you might think I'd leave it up as an info page -- which I did, October through February. However, when it was up, I was getting four or five pleading questions a day -- followed up by angry emails when I couldn't answer them, having lost the machine four months previous.

So, the page is no more. I'm sure there are other info sites on the 'net.

I'm somewhat tempted to post some of these abusive and demanding emails here, to show how much of an ass some people can be when you give them free info but not exactly what they want. I'm not really interested in repeating this fiasco, though I am available for contract consultation.

Sorry. If I ever have the free time and masochistic streak to attempt to put Linux on a laptop again -- much less to tell people about it -- the info will be here.
